Our Specialists

Our nurses come from a wide variety of backgrounds with many years of experience in Recovery Room, Critical Care, Operating Room, Emergency Room and Pediatrics. Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Surgicenter nurses are registered nurses who are certified in their areas of specialty, such as Certified Nursing in the Operating Room, Certified Peri-anesthesia Nursing and Certified Ambulatory Peri-anesthesia Nursing. All of our nurses are certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. In addition, surgicenter offers excellent care before, during and after surgery to meet individual patient needs.

During surgery, an anesthesiologist monitors the patient to ensure his or her vital signs, such as blood pressure and heart rate, remain normal.

Our highly qualified staff of anesthesiologists are doctors who specialize in ambulatory and pediatric anesthesia. They are board certified or board eligible, and are experienced with treating a wide variety of individuals, from infants to adults. They work with physicians representing all surgical specialties. The pediatric anesthesiologists have a special interest in children's physiology and psychology.

To make the experience as pleasant as possible, anesthesiologists talk to the patient and family before the surgery, describe what will happened and address any questions or concerns.

Our surgical technologists and assistants are highly experienced. Many are certified. They have a wide range of experience at major hospitals in the metro Milwaukee area. They have worked with surgeons in a variety of surgical specialties and continue to do so at surgicenter. Our radiology technologists are registered and experienced in all aspects of radiology.

In addition, we have more than 190 surgeons on our staff representing many different specialties.
